The Games get underway in the men’s football competition on July 24, running through until the Final on July 9, taking place across France at many of the nation’s iconic stadiums. Brazil are the current holders, having won Gold at the last two Olympics. No nation has completed a hat-trick in the men’s competition, and it won’t be occurring here either, with the Selecao failing to qualify for the tournament.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry will coach the host nation this year. A 25-man preliminary squad was announced in early June. This will be whittled down to 18 just before the tournament, and the squad includes a host of excellent young players.
The two overage players to make the cut are forwards Alexandre Lacazette (33) and Jean-Philippe Mateta (26), who netted 19 goals and won Crystal Palace’s Player of the Year award at the end of this season.
Other notable inclusions are Michael Olise, also of Crystal Palace, although many big clubs are keen to secure his signature this summer, as well as PSG stars Warren Zaire-Emery and Bradley Barcola, both of whom offer an exciting glimpse into the future of French football.

Guinea head coach Kaba Diawara has named his squad after clinching the final spot at the Olympics following a win over Indonesia in early May.
Getafe forward, Ilaix Moriba netted the winning goal that day and was featured in the lineup for his country as their star man.
The 2024 Olympics represents Guinea’s first tournament since 1968, but they face an incredibly difficult challenge with both France and the USA in their group.

Similarly, we’re yet to see Marko Mitrovic’s USA squad announced. However, the friendly against Japan that happened on June 11 gave us a good glimpse into the possible 18-man squad. The U.S. men’s Olympic soccer squad fell 2-0 to Japan in their final match before the Paris 2024 roster is named.
Walker Zimmerman is the only overage player to make the squad, after missing out on the Copa America squad due to injury, while we can also expect to see Kavin Parades of Wolfsburg and LA Galaxy’s Jalen Neal.
The 25-man squad for that Japan fixture and the Under-23 camp is:
